Charlotte Hockey Lab was built with a mission: to make hockey more accessible, more inclusive, and more innovative—starting right here in the Carolinas.

I’m Ray Serrano, founder of Charlotte Hockey Lab and a lifelong hockey player and advocate. After years in the game, I saw firsthand how hard it can be to get the ice time, coaching, and resources needed to truly grow as a player—especially in non-traditional markets like the South. So I decided to do something about it.

The Lab is more than a facility. It’s a passion project built to support players and coaches with cutting-edge tools, off-ice development programs, and a welcoming space where anyone—at any level—can sharpen their skills.

Whether you’re a youth player learning the fundamentals, a beer leaguer looking to get your edge back, or a coach searching for new ways to train your team, we’ve got your back. Our goal isn’t to compete with local rinks or programs—we’re here to complement them. We proudly partner with coaches, teams, and organizations throughout the region to enhance the hockey experience for everyone.

Looking ahead, our vision is big. We plan to bring the Hockey Lab concept to under-served hockey communities across the South—cities that, like Charlotte, are full of passionate players but short on ice time and development options. By giving these communities new tools, new ideas, and a new kind of facility, we’re helping grow the game in a way that’s sustainable, exciting, and long overdue.
