KYRA MCDONALD

Kyra grew up in Connecticut before relocating to Charlotte, where she played her youth hockey with the Jr Checkers, Jr Canes, and Southern Flyers. She spent four years at Northfield Mount Hermon prep school (MA) before heading to Elmira College (NCAA DIII) to continue her playing career.

After college, Kyra spent five years living in London before returning to Charlotte and jumping back into coaching. She joined the Queen City Royals staff for the 2023–2024 season and just wrapped up 2024–2025 behind the bench of the 14UAA girls team—earning her first state title as a head coach.
